Zilizopendwa Heshima Festival: Celebrating Nostalgia and Culture

Zilizopendwa Heshima Festival

A Celebration of Roots and Connection

The Zilizopendwa Heshima Festival wasn’t just an event—it was a heartwarming celebration of nostalgia, heritage, and family. Hosted by Imani Siri International Academy (ISIA) at the cozy Soma Siri Afrika Innovation Hub in Kikuyu, Thogoto, the day brought parents together in the most beautiful way, while giving our talented Siri Solvers a chance to shine through games, songs, and dances that radiated cultural pride.

Stepping Back in Time

The venue was pure magic, taking everyone back in time with its 1980s and 90s-inspired décor. Every little detail sparked memories, laughter, and stories from the past. Guests were treated to a taste of tradition with porridge, ũcũrũ wa mũkĩo served in calabashes, a thoughtful touch that brought smiles all around.

Inspiring Words and Timeless Music

Marion, our keynote speaker and a family counselor, truly moved us with her insightful session on parenting styles. Her words gave us all something to think about and inspired meaningful conversations. DJ Reymar was the life of the party, spinning those timeless Zilizopendwa classics that got everyone up and dancing. Seeing parents and kids lose themselves in the music together? Absolutely priceless.

Celebrating Style

The best-dressed competition was a real crowd-pleaser, and Sophie, our fabulous PGF lead, stole the show with her outfit that was pure perfection for the theme.

Thank You!

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up and made this day so special. The Zilizopendwa Heshima Festival was more than just a gathering—it was a celebration of who we are, where we come from, and the joy of passing those beautiful memories to the next generation. We couldn’t have done it without you.
